The Eastview Lightning Touchdown Club (“ELTC”) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to promote Lightning Football, both financially and as fans. Help protect our tradition of football excellence through community support. The Eastview area is a hot bed for quality football. We give special thanks to those who have volunteered their time, energy and money to the EVAA in-house and traveling football programs and the EVHS Football Boosters over the past decade. All of you have made a significant difference!! With the continued success of the EVAA youth football program, EVAA traveling football program and the EVHS football teams (9, 10, junior varsity and varsity), we anticipate that more and more EVHS students will want to be a part of EVHS football to enrich their high school experience.
To maintain the EVHS football program, provide a quality experience for our student-athletes and remain competitive on the field, requires financial support. Unlike the EVAA youthfootball programs, participation fees paid by EVHS football players do not go directly to fund EVHS football operational costs. Nor do gate receipts at games played at Lightning Stadium. The minimum amounts budgeted to the EVHS football program by the School District are insufficient to create a positive experience for our athletes or remain competitive in the Lake Conference, one of Minnesota’s strongest.
That is where the ELTC and its supporters come in. The ELTC’s directors, officers, committee chairs, members, volunteers, and supporters contribute their time, energy, ideas and money to directly support Lightning football. Every dollar raised by the ELTC helps EVHS expand upon its heritage of football excellence by directly supporting the operational needs of EVHS football as determined by Head Football Coach, Kelly Sherwin. Through individual and corporate memberships, business sponsorships, advertising and other fundraising activities, the ELTC generates incremental funds beyond the budgeted School District minimums.
Over the past decade, funds raised by the Football Boosters have been used to hire assistant coaches to increase our player-to-coach ratios, provide player equipment and purchase video equipment and computer software, among other football-related needs. In an era of shrinking state funding for education and cost cutting by local school districts, it is more important than ever to make a commitment to the ELTC so that we can help EVHS meet its operational needs, provide an enriched, quality football experience for our student-athletes and bring EVHS one step closer to another Section Title and a State Championship.
