2010 - The Lightning Football team was awarded a Minnesota Class AAAAA Team Academic Gold Award, which is the highest team academic award possible with a combined GPA of 3.3. This is the 8th consecutive year that the Lightning football team has received an academic award.

2009 - The Lightning Football team was awarded a Minnesota Class AAAAA Team Academic Gold Award, which is the highest team academic award possible with a combined GPA of 3.4. This is the 7th consecutive year that the Lightning football team has received an academic award.

2008 - The Lightning Football team was awarded a Minnesota Class AAAAA Team Academic Gold Award with a combined GPA of 3.3.

2007 - The Lightning Football team was awarded a Minnesota Class AAAAA Team Academic Gold Award with a combined GPA of 3.6.

2006 - The Lightning Football Team was Academic Section Champions with a combined GPA of 3.6.

2005 - The Lighning Football Team was Academic Section Champions with a combined GPA of 3.61.

2004 - The Lightning Football Team was Academic Section Champions with a combined GPA of 3.68.
