Eastview High School Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Athletics Matt Percival has announced the hiring of Wade Buckley as the new Head Football Coach for the 2023 season. Coach Buckley will replace Kelly Sherwin who resigned from his coaching duties after 26 very successful seasons as the original and only head coach of the Lightning Football program.

Coach Buckley is entering his eighth year as a teacher of Social Studies and Physical Education, with experience teaching in Western Canada and Minnesota.  Starting in 2021, he has taught Physical Education and Unified Physical Education at Eastview High School.  From 2007-2009, Coach Buckley played Middle Linebacker for the Victoria Rebels of the Canadian Junior Football League, earning All-Province honors in 2009.
